The Collins Courier

2023

Strictly Marblehead News: Last year I talked about our new roundabout and as far as I know there was not one accident on this structure. This surprised me due to the increase in summer visitors on the peninsula. There is a new roundabout going up in the Catawba/Port Clinton area that his much larger and will open next summer.

Strictly Collins’ News: This year has brought about lots of medical issues for both of us. So this is what happens when you are in your mid 70’s?!

My issue had to do with my heart but after an echocardiogram, wearing a heart monitor for 15 days and a stress test, all came back showing no issues and my heart is fine.

Mike has had numerous tests the past 3 months and we still do not have a diagnosis. He will be getting a PET scan on the 14th. Just overall not feeling well! Hate dealing with insurance companies!! He was still able to beautify our front yard. He is getting use to just letting the mowers do their job! UPDATE….the Pet and brain scan were negative. Now we are looking at Lyme Disease based on a recent blood test. He is taking medication for this.

On July 14th Mike and I celebrated 50 years of marriage. We decided to drive up to Mackinaw City for five days. We had a great time visiting Mackinac Island, and areas over the Mackinaw bridge including Tahquamenon Falls. The weather was perfect!

Strictly Baby News: This past April, Cian (pronounced Kee-an) was born. He is adorable and as cute as his brother, Jack and our granddaughter, Imogen! If you don’t believe me, view their pictures below!

Strictly Boys, husband and wives news: Earlier this year Chris was able to return to his home as we found a provider. He stays at his house 3 days a week and then comes to our house over the weekend. It gives us and him a break from each other.

Derek and Ryan are still working remote.

In November, Derek and family flew to Ireland for a two week stay. That is one country that neither of them had traveled to.

Ryan and Annie’s family vacationed for a week in Florida with her family.

Peace on earth seems far away this year but truly wishing my friends and family a blessed New Year!
